| As our Acworth Maids business continues to expand, we realize we need to keep an open mind. This means being willing to meet the customer on the level they require. We learned early on that a picture is worth a thousand words. For that reason we adhere closely to a visual training methodology for our Acworth Maids staff which we use You Tube to help administer. For one thing, You Tube is free, which we like. We figure, why increase our operational overhead and transfer those costs to our clients? Instead, we use free technology to help administer critical educational messages for our Acworth Maids. At the onset of this article we mentioned that we needed to keep an open mind. The implementation of You Tube training is one example of how our flexibility and vision has helped pay off. The end result is better training for our Acworth Maids because and let's be honest here, it is more fun to watch a video than read a manual.
In addition to video training, we closely analyzed our scheduling operations. We had to learn to do something that is very difficult, saying no to our customers. This may seem strange but by eliminating the commitment of exact times, our overall performance has drastically increased. What are the reasons for this? For one, exact times absolutely destroys the morale of our Acworth Maids. It is no fun to have to drive to Roswell, then Acworth, then back to Alpharetta because of exact time requirements. If you do the math you can figure out what happens, the crews quit and find another job. The end result is high turnover and inevitably lower levels of service performed by our Acworth Maids. Instead by sticking to our logistical scheduling, we are able to be more efficient. This leads to higher profitability and morale for our Acworth Maids. For these reasons, we are up front about our scheduling capabilities to our valued clients. We are able to commit to a specific time range but it must be first of the day. Otherwise, we put ourselves and our customers in a position that is destined for disappointment.
